Nigerian Vice-President Namadi Sambo made a transit visit to the Maldives, en route to China. On his arrival at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport Thursday, he was welcomed by Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen.
During their meeting, the two Vice Presidents discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between the Maldives and Nigeria. Discussions were mainly focused on increasing cooperation and support in addressing piracy, security and terrorism. They also explored ways to increas cooperation in the areas of education tourism, agriculture and energy.

The Prime Minister of Thailand, Ms.Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to make an official visit to the Maldives from 1st to 3rd June on the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Waheed.
During her visit, the Prime Minister will call on President Waheed and the two leaders will hold official talks on the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Thailand. Seven agreements on mutual cooperation between the two countries will be also concluded during the visit. President Dr. Mohamed Waheed will host an Official Dinner in honour of the visiting Prime Minister.

The two missing people from Azum dhoni who was found alive have arrived in Maldives.
The vessel was reported missing on 4th May after departing from M.Mulak to L.Maavashu island with 2 people (Hassan Rasheed, 39yrs, ADh.Maamingili and Abdulla Waheed, 32 yrs, L.Maavashu) onboard.
Hassan Rasheed and Abdullah Waheed were located by an oil tanker vessel registered in Marshal Islands, at 987 miles away from Maldives, 300 miles off the coast of Sumatra.

Two individuals suspected of theft have been taken into custody by Officers of the HDh. Kulhudhufhushi Police Station.
The individuals in question are a 21 year old male and a 23 year old male.
The individuals were brought into Police custody due to implications in a theft that took place on the 28th of May at approximately 2214 hours.
A grand total of MRV 6,500 [six thousand five hundred] and 2 mobile phones were stolen.
The arrests were made on the same night as the result of the hard work of the Officers present.

The Inspector General of the Sri Lankan Police Service, J. K. Illangakoon has ended his official visit to the Maldives.
